Guardian of Light: Megan Ice

Guardians of Light: Our People, Our Stories. At Saint Joseph’s Children’s Home, the real magic comes from the people who pour their hearts into serving our kids and families every single day. Our staff bring compassion, creativity, and resilience to every role—and we think it’s time to celebrate them!

Staff Spotlight: Megan Ice

Role: Assessment Coordinator
Years at SJCH: 13 years, 9 months

Megan has been part of Saint Joseph’s Children’s Home for nearly 14 years. One memory that reminds her why she does this work is when a little boy shared a dream in which Megan rescued him and a staff member from danger. Knowing his trauma history, Megan realized how deeply he trusted her.

  • What the kids have taught her: Positive intentions mean little without positive actions.
  • Her role: To be present and supportive, helping youth build the tools to become heroes of their own stories.
  • 3 words for SJCH: Compassionate, supportive, care.
  • Mascot pick: Phoenix – for resilience and transformation.
  • Superpower wish: To know what will happen 15 minutes before it does.
  • Fun fact: Megan is also a firefighter and grew up chasing wild cattle in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.
