Welcome Our New Clinical Director: Rocky Spino, M.S., NCC, LPC

We are proud to welcome Rocky Spino, M.S., NCC, LPC, as our new Clinical Director. Rocky brings with him a wealth of experience, compassion, and creativity to his new role. As a state-licensed and National Board-Certified Counselor, he has dedicated his career to helping children, adolescents, and families develop stronger, healthier relationships. His professional background has included maintaining a private practice as a child therapist, directing clinical programs, supervising fellow therapists, leading a 10-county crisis response team, and serving as an adjunct lecturer in counselor education.

Before joining St. Joseph’s, Rocky served as Executive Director of Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center, where he led a dedicated team supporting youth and families in residential care. His innovative approaches to therapy have been featured in national publications, broadcast media, and at professional workshops on topics ranging from parenting 21st-century teens to rebuilding parent-child bonds after family disruption.

Interestingly, Rocky’s professional journey began outside the behavioral health field when, at the age of 16, he sat behind the radio microphone and became one of the youngest broadcasters in the market. His relatability, natural curiosity, and skill at connecting with people provided him access as an interviewer to celebrities, newsmakers, and others from all walks of life. Ultimately, this led him to translate these talents into a career of helping others.

Rocky graduated from Penn State University (summa cum laude, Bachelor of Humanities with teacher certification in English) and Shippensburg University (M.S. in Counseling). His clinical work has centered on treating children and adolescents, helping these young clients overcome difficulties and build success at school, among their peer groups, and within their family systems.

Rocky deeply believes in the power of communication, connection, and compassion, values that align perfectly with St. Joseph’s mission. We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to the many ways his leadership will help youth and families heal, grow, and thrive.
