Staff Spotlight: Janet Mundt

Role: Elementary Teacher
Years at SJCH: 30 years

Janet has been an elementary teacher at Saint Joseph’s Children’s Home for 30 years, shaping young minds with patience and care. When asked what reminds her why she does this work, she shared, “Witnessing the positive changes a child makes during their stay here is why I do this.”

  • What the youth have taught her: The kids have taught me there is more than one way to get the same desired results.
  • Her role: My role at SJCH is not only to educate, but to teach each child that they are valued and important.
  • 3 words for SJCH: Compassion, grace, acceptance.
  • Mascot pick: If SJCH had a mascot, it would be a lion because it takes strength and courage to work through trauma.
  • Superpower wish: If I had a superpower, I would want to be able to fly.
  • Fun fact: She has a great uncle who is a famous artist.
