EDUCATION PROGRAM
Thank you for your interest in our school! At Saint Joseph's Children's Home, we have been extremely blessed with both the resources and professional staff necessary to provide young people in a residential treatment setting the opportunity to receive an education specifically designed for them. It's our goal that every student we serve acquires the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully reintegrate into a public school, home and community setting. To that end, we work hard to meet the standards of education and care established for us by the following accrediting agencies; the Wyoming Department of Education (WSDE), the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS), the Joint Commission and Medicaid. Our school has been fully accredited by the WSDE since 1997.

ASSESSMENTS
The link below provides an overview of the assessments we use to determine present levels of performance, monitor student growth throughout the length of stay and assist us in the development of curriculum and instructional activities. All assessments are administered on an individual basis in an effort to obtain valid measurements. The results are made available to students, parents and placing agencies.
Types of Assessments:
CURRICULUM
The entire curriculum provided at Saint Joseph's Children's Home is based upon our state's K-12 Education Standards. Those standards specify the essential learning all students must master in order to graduate from a Wyoming high school. Upon admission to Saint Joseph's, most of our students are performing well below their expected grade level based upon state standards. See more on Curriculum
STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Our school values the delivery of quality education services within a safe and nurturing environment. High expectations are established for both academics and behavior. Student accountability for meeting these expectations is greatly enhanced through the use of a structured progression of interventions. This system is designed to help students learn and then apply appropriate social skills, study habits, and independent problem-solving strategies. Students are provided immediate feedback during each class regarding their use of these skills and the information is then documented on their point card. The more positive points a student consistently earns enables his/her advancement to a higher level within the system as well as increased privileges.
