All entry-level positions for Direct Care of Youth require
a minimum of the following:
- A minimum of 21 years of age
- Visual & Auditory Acuity sufficient to communicate
with staff & students in group and individual settings.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Maintain Certification in the Mandt System of therapeutic
holds
- Successful completion of background checks in child abuse
and a criminal record investigation
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Bachelor’s
degree preferred
Expectations of position include:
- Teaching appropriate behaviors, social skills, living
skills to severely emotionally disturbed youth
- Desire to be part of an outstanding team
- Always willing to learn/open to change
- Role model appropriate behaviors and actions
- Sincere desire to help youth
- Ensure the mission of St. Joseph's, including the spiritual
formation of residents as an integral part of the healing
process.
