All entry-level positions for Direct Care of Youth require a minimum of the following:

  • A minimum of 21 years of age
  • Visual & Auditory Acuity sufficient to communicate with staff & students in group and individual settings.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Maintain Certification in the Mandt System of therapeutic holds
  • Successful completion of background checks in child abuse and a criminal record investigation
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred

Expectations of position include:

  • Teaching appropriate behaviors, social skills, living skills to severely emotionally disturbed youth
  • Desire to be part of an outstanding team
  • Always willing to learn/open to change
  • Role model appropriate behaviors and actions
  • Sincere desire to help youth
  • Ensure the mission of St. Joseph's, including the spiritual formation of residents as an integral part of the healing process.
